VRR Deep Dive: Why is VR perceived as a gimmick?

Some people might consider VR as nothing more than a fad - a gimmick - and often compare it to technology that has been hailed as 'the next big thing', only to fail a few years later. It's a perfectly understandable opinion to have - we've been burned so many times in the past. The Wii, 3DTVs and the Kinect could all fall into the category of 'gimmicky tech'. But is it fair to compare VR to these past examples so early? Thanks for listening, and don't forget to subscribe! The audio podcast version of the VR Roundtable show is also available on iTunes, as well as all the other usual places. e-mail: vrroundtable@gmail.com

Reckoner VR
Hello, my name is Gary - AKA Reckoner VR - and I'm a virtual reality enthusiast. I am a member of VR Roundtable which is a YouTube show and audio podcast dedicated to virtual reality news and discussion. This blog is a small side-endeavour which I've decided to pursue while VR Roundtable is on hiatus. I'll be posting various thoughts and opinions on the VR industry as I see it, with my usual brand of nonsensical ramblings. Thank you for checking this out!
